UpFront
UpFront is a senior thesis project created by Emily Oberg, Emely Ramos, and Usman Khan during the Fall of 2023 and Spring of 2024. UpFront is a website resource for teens and young adults dedicated to educating newcomers to antidepressants about the process of being on antidepressants from beginning, during, and end. The website aims to provide information ‘up front’ to avoid complications that many face when it comes to gaining knowledge about antidepressant medication.
Navigating antidepressant medication can be confusing and scary, but it doesn’t have to be that way. UpFront is here to provide you what you need to know about antidepressants. The main complications that new users and old users face when going on medication are lack of comprehensive information for obtaining medications, options for medication, switching medications, and weaning off of medication. The website strives to bridge the gap between patient and provider knowledge, making the process of going on medication a collaborative effort.
The project explores user research, brand development, web development, and publication. Following the creation of these assets, we presented our work at the 2024 BFA Design Exhibition.
